Westminster, SC — During the Westminster Christmas Parade on the evening of December 5, 2025, a 7-year-old male participant was injured after the horse he was riding became unexpectedly spooked, causing him to fall. Emergency medical and fire personnel responded immediately and provided on-scene care.
The child was transported to Prisma Health in Greenville for advanced evaluation and treatment. The Westminster Police Department is currently reviewing the incident to determine all contributing factors. Parade participants and attendees are reminded to exercise caution and follow all safety guidelines at community events.
At this time, the family has requested privacy.
